Dog Collar Training

Voice Commands go hand and hand with dog training collars

From the moment you bring a new puppy or dog into your home he needs some form of training. If left alone a puppy or dog will be just that! To assist in your training you should consider buying a dog training collar. It can be assist you in reinforcing your training hand signals and voice commands. It helps the canine recognize the owners commands and alters their natural behavior.

The way a dog training collar works is it emits a small shock or vibration to the dog when the owner or trainer pushes a button on the remote control for the collar. When the button is pressed the dog will feel a shock around the throat area. The idea behind the shock is that when the dog feels it and hears a "NO" command at the same time they will stop the action that resulted in discomfort. After time the canine should associate that a negative command means a shock is coming. When you are satisfied that your canine has been trained to your liken than the dog training collar is no longer needed.

A canine that constantly barks can be a nuisance to you and your neighbors. A dog training collar can help alleviate this problem. The dog training collar shocks the dog in the neck area whenever he barks. After time when the dog has been shocked repeatedly for barking they will learn that their bark is not worth the shock.

Some canine owners see the shock as being to painful or cruel for training purposes. There is now a no-bark training collar that releases a small mist of lemon spray by the dog's nose. The unpleasant smell of the mist reminds the dog that if he barks he gets the mist , without the shock.

Shocks Can Help Pet Learn

Some dog owners and professional trainers use the electric dog training collars to help train their canines to learn new tricks. It is not just used to help keep your canine stay off the furniture and not to jump up on people. One easy trick to teach the dog is to put the collar on and tell him to come. With the slight shock the dogs now knows that if he doesn't come he will get the slight shock.

Another system that works in conjunction with a dog training collar is the radio fence containment system. One important step to take before you use it is to make sure it is installed correctly. You don't want there to be a threat of serious injury to your pet. Eventually if used properly and the canine learns his boundaries you can keep the dog training collar on while shutting the power off to the underground fence. In fear of the shock the canine becomes hesitant to cross the line, even at your urging. More than likely after this has occurred the dog training collar can be removed

Once you or your trainer has accomplished the level of desired training you can remove the dog training collar. It has served its purpose and is no longer needed.
