This trait can make training somewhat difficult but a must to maintain control of thie beagle. Beagles are a very active breed which makes a great pet for households with children. Beagles should not show any aggression or be timid, but can be a very mischievous bold breed.

Grooming Tips: Daily brushing should be done to remove any loose hair since this breed tends to shed a lot. Their big floppy ears should be cleaned as often as possible if not daily. With their sense of adventure they can pick up numerous bugs and parasites when exploring. They tend to get severe ear infections if their ears are not cleaned regularly.
Behavior Training: Being very intellegent and eager to please their owners beagles make for great students. You need to establish some type of routine b/c they do loose interest quickly. Constant and firm training is mandatory for this breed to excel.
Daily Activity: The Beagle is very active. So long walks are good to burn some of their energy. They love the outdoors so families with this breed should have a decent size backyard.
